STEEMCHURCH: THE IMPACT OF GOD IN THE WORLD

in #steemchurch8 years ago

Greetings to all my brothers from @steemchurch and all their parishes, God bless our leader @sirknight founder of #steemchurch and God bless our dear apostle @darlenys01.

Today I'm going to talk about a very important issue of how God has impacted the world, No one has influenced the world in the way that Jesus has. No one.

Throughout history, the influence that Jesus had on people's lives has not been surpassed. No other leader has inspired so many positive changes in the lives of his followers. Those who encounter the risen Christ are totally transformed. His way of seeing life is forever altered. By defending their faith, they do not hesitate to face persecution difficulties and even death. Many devote their lives to the service of others, setting aside their own desires and needs

"Because I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes; first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. "Romans 1:16.

That is the Gospel that has in itself a supernatural power. The Lord commends his Church to carry this message. "And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned "(Mark 16:15, 16). That is the main assignment, called THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH OF THE LORD, that is, to be depositary to deliver to the world a message that God has given him, a message that is not only words, but a living experience that everyone who has He is born again and therefore he has to preach it.

There is a supernatural and saving power in the message of God, as Paul says: "The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the Word of faith that we preach: that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved "(Romans 10: 8, 9).

The power that surrounds the message we preach, is the one that has come from heaven, is the one that God has left us. We are only spokesmen, because the VERB, the WORD, is CHRIST. Christ is the substance, the structure of this message and when we speak under the power of the Spirit of God, with a firm experience and a life given to the Lord, we have a powerful weapon capable of trampling the devil.

Some want to make society educate, sin does not disappear with education, education is important and takes its place. We always say to the young people in our congregations that we have to study, that professionals, engineers, architects, doctors, etc; we want you not only to have a profession, but values, Christian principles, which should govern a good society, people who can have foundations of the fear of God. We are by the grace of God, creators and advocates of true values, deep principles, customs and habits that honor the human being.

Now we know that it is the power of the Gospel of God that transforms, because the message of God is effective for many lives.

First century Christians

After the crucifixion of Jesus, his disciples were devastated. They betrayed him to save their own lives. But after meeting the risen Christ, they changed radically. Suddenly they were eager to give their lives to tell the story of Jesus to the world. Many were tortured and killed for proclaiming the risen Christ.

Skeptics and enemies were also transformed. Jesus' younger brother, James, did not believe that Jesus was special. But when his resurrected brother appeared, he not only believed in Jesus as Lord, but also became the leader of the church in Jerusalem and gave his life as a martyr in 62 AD.

Saul of Tarsus was the chief persecutor of Christians. He took them to jail and when they did not deny the faith, he himself testified against them to be executed. But he had a dramatic encounter with the risen Christ on the way to Damascus. Then his name changed from Saul, enemy of the Christians, to Paul, the main promoter of the gospel. He left his prestigious position to become a missionary; He experienced cruel suffering for the love of Christ in the midst of the Roman Empire.

The Roman governor, Pliny the Second, wrote in his Epistles X96 that Christians were people who loved the truth at any cost. Even when he received orders to torture and execute Christians who refused to curse Jesus, he continually marveled at their firm convictions: "Do not do evil deeds, do not commit fraud, steal, commit adultery, never falsify your words, do not deny faith even when you demand to renounce it. " For centuries, Christians have been luminaries of love and truth established by Jesus of Nazareth.

The historian Philip Schaff described the supereminent influence that Jesus had on the history and culture of the world. This Jesus of Nazareth, without money or weapons, conquered more people than Alexander the Great, Caesar, Muhammad and Napoleon; without science ... he brought more light to divine and human affairs than all the philosophers and scholars combined; without eloquence of schools, he developed a word as alive as never before was spoken or spoken, and produced effects beyond the reach of orators and poets; without writing a single line, it provoked more feathers in motion, and provided subjects for more sermons, debates, teaching books, works of art, and hymns of praise, more than all the great men of ancient and modern times.

Modern Christianity

The power of Christ knows no barriers of time or space. In our time, many skeptics have been convinced as the skeptics of the first century. For example Lew Wallace, a famous general and literary genius, was a recognized atheist. For two years he studied in the most famous libraries in Europe and America, looking for information that would destroy Christianity forever. While writing the second chapter of a book that delineated his thought, he suddenly found himself on his knees crying out to Jesus: "My Lord and my God"

When confronted with the solid and indisputable evidence, he could not deny more that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Later, Lew Wallace, wrote the book Ben Hur, one of the best English novels ever written, concerning the time of Christ.

Similar was the case of C.S. Lewis, a teacher at the University of Oxford in England; He was an agnostic who denied the deity of Christ for years. But he, too, by intellectual honesty submitted himself to Christ as his God and Savior, after having studied the overwhelming evidence of His deity. Over the years, he wrote several books that supported the ideals of Christianity, including Mere Christianity (Christianity and nothing else) and The Screwtape Letters.

Many other men and women of our century have dedicated their lives to propagating the message of Christ, sometimes bravely overcoming torture and even death. For example, one of the most well-known Christian leaders in Romania, Richard Wurmbrand, spent 14 years in prison and was tortured repeatedly for running "underground" churches during the communist regime. Even after international pressure secured his release from Romania, he continued to receive death threats from the communist regime. But these attempts at intimidation did not silence him. He kept expanding the good news of Christ publicly.

In Korea, Joon Gon Kim, a well-known Christian leader, witnessed the deaths of his wife and father by communist sympathizers in his own village. He himself was beaten until he lost consciousness and they left him for dead. He survived the beating and asked God to give him love for the souls of his enemies. Eventually he led 30 communists to believe in Jesus, including the one responsible for the death of his family members.

The love of Christ not only impels Christians to face persecution and death, but also to work to make this world a better place. Mother Teresa was an excellent example of a life poured out in the service of Christ. From her well-known ministry among the poor, she said: "Our work is just an expression of the love we have for the Lord."

Like her, many others have dedicated their lives to the service of the poor and despised in their countries and outside of them. William and Katherine Booth, founders of the Salvation Army, believed that serving the poor was like serving Christ himself. The movement launched by this couple, recruited the tireless efforts of enthusiastic people who wanted to make a difference in the world around them.

CONCLUSION

All these Christians found fulfillment and joy in following the teachings of Jesus. They were transformed by meeting Christ and giving their lives to Him. Each of them had a positive impact on the world.

You can also know the Living God, and experience His transforming power. The desire of Jesus Christ is to enter his heart and give him a new life in him.

Sort:

God transforms our lives, and by being transformed we impact others. God is the only one who can change our history. Praise the Lord.
