Home Away from Home: Embracing the Rest House Experience

I could say that the place where I'm currently living is far more from civilization. From the way of transportation, access to the internet and maybe some more; it's hard to find here. Although, travelers or people who want to visit here can not avoid it. So an inn or a place to stay is necessary even in a place like this. However, a hotel or a motel is nowhere to be found in this place which is very hard if you have a visitor.

I forgot to post about my wedding but it successfully happened last week. I was very busy writing a post about it since we don't have that much amount so we were the ones managing it to make it happen. And then, there was @chrisrice and @philnews.xyz (Ed) who came to attend my wedding. I was pleased to see them both on my important day and made sure there would be a place for them to stay because they said to stay for a couple of days.  

Before they arrived, I was looking for a place for them to stay. I wanted to make sure that they would like the place and of course a safe one. That's why I learned about this house that they accepted strangers to stay. However, they don't want this house to be used like a hotel or a motel or even a lodging house. This house is a rest house by the owners when they come home from other countries. So they wanted it to still be considered a home, that's why it should be offered to the public as a home but not a house. 

Oh by the way, it's been a while since I participated the awesome #marketfriday tag by @dswigle (Denise.) I was really busy for a couple of weeks because of my wedding. Now that I'm ready to be back on track after my mind is not occupied with the things that I wanted to do next. It becomes freer now compared to when my wedding was about to happen. So the places that I visited will now be my future posts for sure. 

The reason I was confident that Chris and Ed would love this house is because of how it was built. Nowadays, you can rarely find a typical Filipino house.

Also, like an old-fashioned house, it was built with pieces of wood from the stairs, rooms, living room and the other places of the house. Well of course, the outside is built with hard materials but most of what's inside are pieces of wood while being shiny. 

The use of the room is based on every person. For example, every person whether 2 or 3 of them use one room are still counted with how many people are inside. The rate for every person is 500 pesos or USD 10 and it's good for the whole day. There is no time for checking out or checking in. The time you arrive will be counted by tomorrow morning with the same time when you arrived. Though it can be negotiable because I noticed the caretaker there was nice and accommodating. You will feel safe, secure and comfortable, even my friend told me about it after he left there. 

So I must say that the house is perfect for someone who wants to stay if they don't have a place to stay if they're going to visit here. No need to be conscious about it because the house where it's located is nice. It's like you're in the mountain but built inside the town that you can go visit anytime if there is something you want to buy or to go. For just as low as 500 pesos or 10 dollars, you can enjoy your stay for a whole day with an airconditioned room. The surroundings of the house as well is surrounded with trees and flowers that you'd love to stay if ever you just wanted to rest.
