[Blog #60] Photography, Beatles & Quarentine

in GEMS4 years ago

Hoeeey fellas! How are you? Being creative is key to cure quarentine boredoom!

The dog is snoring on the bed, little demon. I don't blame her though, for sleeping the whole afternoon. Weather has been miserable and, once again, rain is falling from the dull monochromatic sky. Feels like 2020 is throwing the mighty power upon us. Sigh. Have you seen the cyclone? A cyclone in Brazil!

Cyclone kills 9, causes floods and damage in southern Brazil

For those who don't know, Brazil is not all sunny beaches and caipirinha. In fact, in the far south ― where I am ― the temperatures are currently ranging between 0°C and 10°C; freezing to endure without any heating system indoors. Well… at least there’s a comforting aroma of ginger and lemon emerging from the mug by the computer; great to keep the immune system checked.

Speaking of that, quarantine is on and off which messes up with anxiety. There’s nothing much to do besides waiting and controlling emotions to keep creativity flowing. It would’ve been easier if I could go out to camp and cycle. But… what else can we do, right?

To keep the good spirit it's important to find time for hobbies. Studying photography and playing some guitar, for example.

That’s what I want to share today, the product of a few hours locked inside trying different stuff with the camera.

Still a long way to go in mastering the photography art. But the fun is exactly in not being an expert, as any new technique or discovery represents a humongous leap forward. The excitment of seeing the product of a bunch of skills bundled together is a hella inspiring.

Next step is... playing the damn guitar! Do'h.

Here's some guitar facts!

The guitar on the photo is a famous Epiphone 230TD, the same model John Lennon used throughout his life.

Then he stripped the paint off, exposing the light colour of the wood beneath it; you may have seen it on the famous Rooftop Concert.

The reason for stripping that beautiful sun burst is that Lennon believed the wood needed to breath. Weather that's true or not... I don't know. I won't sand mine, hah!

I hope you've enjoyed this different post, and stay tunned for the next travel story that's coming up soon!
