My experience with marijuana and cooking edibles for people looking for alternative medicine

I’m 34 years old and have been smoking weed for over 20 years. I’m college graduate that works in the IT sales industry, I also own a web hosting company and have worked in the event production industry for more than 15 years. I can safely say I have been successful at what I do but life does have its ups and downs. Weed for me has always been my personal place, my spot where I can relive my self from the day-to-day stress that my busy life entails. 

My dealer has become my buddy, we even share common interests and I even spent new years with him and his girlfriend. We hung out here and there and one day I told him I wanted to start growing my own weed. He really didn’t care and he actually encouraged me to do so. So I did! 

I’ve never had the opportunity to grow weed and I had no idea where to start. I googled and read and read, also watched some vids.  I learned about the process and I ended up buying some seeds online from a store in Amsterdam (paid in BTC), a Growtent and LED lights. I purchased this stuff and a few other things on amazon.

My first plant, was ok I made a lot of beginner mistakes, one plant actually dies since I did not check the water for a few days!  My second plant got better and now my third has been my best yet. I ended up harvesting 7 ounces of weed in my last plant! I got it all nailed down to a routine and I am certain I am harvesting the best weed I can with my current conditions.

In one of my work related trips to the states (yeah I don’t live in the states) I ended up finding and buying a very cool kitchen gadget called Magical butter.  It’s a great machine to make base recipes la canna butter, canna oil, coconut canna oil tincture and other stuff too! 

Since I had so much weed (7 ounces!) I ended up doing a batch of tincture. Tincture is cannabis infused into 151 proof alcohol and stored in Amber Glass Pipet Dropper Bottle and doesed with the Plastic Dropper . Edibles have stronger body effects coupled with an almost psychedelic head high in large doses. So people use edibles for Medical uses mostly. 

I called my dealer up and told him what I had done and came by. He explained to me that he has several clients that buy weed weekly from him because they have huge pain issues. He also told me his father has heavy back pains but hates smoking and since he hates smoking he takes 1 or 2 hard ass painkillers per night. 

I explained to him that tinctures work great for people who have intense pain. They taste heavy but it should help his father.  Tinctures are taken orally under the tongue with a dropper, since it 151 Proof alcohol it can burn your tongue! 

I figured out the math and based of the type of weed I used I got these over the thumb results more less:

• Strain: 50% Bubblelicous 50% Aurora Indica
• 60ml per 1 Tincture bottle
• 8 - 11MG of THC per .5-1ml (half a droplet)
• 1.5 ounces infused in en 500ML de Grain Alcohol 151 proof 
• 4.7 grams of  dry weed are estimated to be in each 60ml tincture bottle

With those indications my buddy – the dealer took the bottle to his dads house and had him try it. 

The first night he took a quarter droplet to test it out. The taste of coarse was terrible but he did get some sort of pain relief. 

The second night he took a full droplet.  The second night he said was great! He diluted the drop in a cup of tea and drank it 45 minutes before going to bed. 1 hour after he drank his tea he could feel the pain soothing away. He slept like new! 

The fact that tincture is made from 151 Proof Grain alcohol which is not available here where I live and that my friends father does not drink, we need to find an alternative. 

So lets recap a bit!  I’ve been buying weed from the same guy for so many years he became my buddy. I told my buddy I was going to stop buying weed from him because I wanted to grow my own. Once I grew my own weed I ended up making edibles, which in the end his father and I are working out a formula for his backpain. 

What a weird outcome for a criminalized plant dealer! 

We have been testing a few different edibles based off canna butter or canna coconut oil. We recently did some gummy bears, but these based of tincture. Although they taste better he wanted to try something else since the liquor taste is still there.

I ended up sitting with the guy and talking about his pain and what the ideal way he would like to take his new medicine. Since we started with the most complicated stuff we ended up choosing something simple, we choose brownies for our next batch.

I mean, we already have the amount of THC he needs. It’s just of mater of me making the right mix with canna infused butter. 

That’s exactly what we did!
