5 Important Tests for Checking Heart Conditions
Heart disease occupies one of the most deadly diseases. Heart disease is a condition where the major blood vessels that supply blood to the heart are damaged.
If you have a history of heart disease, what medical treatment should be done immediately?
"The most basic example of an EKG (Electrocardiography) examination, treadmill test, echocardiography, and others follow indications."
1.EKG
EKG (Electrocardiography) is a common test used to detect heart problems and monitor heart status in many situations. Sensors (electrodes) that can detect the electrical activity of the heart attached to the chest and sometimes also in the limbs.
2.Treadmill test
Treadmill tests are performed to see the electrical activity of the heart when the heart is loaded. The tool used is the same as used on the EKG, it's just done while walking or running on the treadmill. So electrode sensors attached to the chest or other limbs will detect the electrical activity of the heart when walking or running on a treadmill.
3.Echocardiography (ECG)
Echocardiography, often referred to as cardiac ultrasound, uses sound waves to produce a heart image. This commonly used test allows doctors to see the heart beat and pump blood. The movement of the heart valves and the condition of the heart muscles can be seen through this test. Doctors can use images from echocardiography to identify heart disease.
4.Calcium scoring
Calcium scoring is an examination of the value of calcium in the heart's blood vessels using CT Scan, which is a non-invasive (non-invasive) way of obtaining information about the presence, location and content of plaque in the coronary arteries. Calcium value obtained is a useful indicator to see how much plaque in the blood vessels of the heart and how much a person's risk of heart attack.
5. Cholesterol (lipid profile)
A number of tests that include cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and other tests should also be examined to see the risk factors for heart disease. So should, if there is a history of heart disease dikeluarga or there are uncomfortable complaints in the chest (shortness of breath), should be checked to the doctor. Or have risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking and menopause should also do the examination.
