Dota 2 is an online multiplayer battle arena game, a sequel to Defense of the Ancients mod on Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. DotA 2 developed by Valve Corporation, published July 2013 dota 2 can be played for free on Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux operation system. Dota 2 can be played exclusively through authorized valve distributor, Steam.

Dota 2 is played by 2 team members with 5 players, each team has a headquarters in the corner of the map, each headquarters has a building called "Ancient", where the team must try to destroy the "Ancient" other team in order to win the game. Each player controls a "Hero" character who focuses on leveling up, collecting gold, buying items and fighting against opponents to win.

Dota 2 development started in 2009. When DotA mod developer, Icefrog, was hired by Valve as lead designer. Dota 2 was praised by critics for its gameplay, quality of manufacture and fidelity on the predecessor's gameplay (DotA mod Warcraft 3). but Dota 2 also draws criticism as a game that is hard to learn and the players are not friendly. Up until mid-2017 Dota 2 became the game that has the most player activity in Steam, with 800,000 players playing online at the same time every day. But has followed the game PUBG (Player unknown battle ground) which has a player activity up to 1 million per day.
