The tiger (Panthera tigris) or maung is the largest living cat species from the genus Panthera. Tigers have distinctive stripes on their fur, in the form of dark vertical stripes on orange fur, with white underfur. Tigers are apex predators, they mainly prey on ungulates such as deer and wild boars. Tigers are territorial animals and are generally solitary predators who are solitary, but still have a social side. They remain in adjacent areas, to support food needs and raise their offspring. Tiger cubs stay with their mothers for about two years, then live independently and leave their mother's home range to build their own homes.

Another term for tiger is Macan which is taken from Javanese, but now people only think of tigers as Panthera pardus and all its subspecies. In fact, this Leopard or Panthera pardus can be called a tiger if you add its last name, namely Leopard. The name Tiger itself comes from Malay, it is also used to refer to Leopard, namely the Star Tiger.
