A very dangerous black cat, Black Panther
It turns out that many of us are wrong about the most basic facts about panthers. We assume that the panther is an entirely separate species of big cat. However, the panther is actually a big cat which is also the same as the jaguar or leopard, depending on its location or geographical distribution.
Panther is defined as a color variant of melanism (the appearance of black pigment due to melanin in the skin) of other species in the genus Panthera, which includes tigers, lions, jaguars and leopards. A black panther in Asia and Africa is known as the Leopard (Panthera pardus). While the black jaguar in America is known as (Panthera onca).
