Amazing tribute to Robin Williams

in #art8 years ago (edited)

There are a lot of people out there who don't know exactly what to do after the loss of Robin Williams, myself included. The shared sentiment seems to be, "What do you do when you lose the person whose work you would normally turn to in order to cheer yourself up?" This morning I found my answer.

It's still Robin.

This morning the girls and I watched Hook, and for me it was the first time in a very long while. I found that though I was sad remembering the loss, I was still grinning more than I have in quite a long time. I realize that no matter what, Robin will always be there to make us laugh. Always be there to turn our bad days into amazing adventures. Always be there to remind us how important it is to never let go of our inner jokesters.

Nothing can undo the work and power of such an amazing man. Nothing can take away that warm spot in out hearts that's perfectly Pan shaped. A hero can never die, and that is what Robin Williams truly was. Each and every smile he brings to our faces is proof of that.

I urge all of you, in your own time, to pick up one of your Robin Williams favorites. Whether it be a big blue Genie, a grown man in green tights, a pseudo-doctor with a big red nose, or any of the others, throw it on and I think you'll find that smile return to you.

So here's to you Robin. Today you made me grin again. Today you made me believe again. Today you were there for me again, and I know you always will be. For that I thank you.
