Monitoring Fruit Trees Planted

Hello dear Steemians , welcome to another edition of my steem post.Today I like to talk about monitoring of trees especially fruit trees after planting. it is not enough to plant fruit trees but ensuring that the trees survive and grow to the age where they can bear fruits is the most important aspect. In monitoring trees planted , you can often check for an attack by insects ,fungi or stray animals. With the coming of the dry season it is very easy to notice how well or how bad a plant is doing. It is during the monitoring and evaluation process that you can notice what exactly the plant needs. Most often it is protection from stray animals and addition of manure to foster effective growth..

In monitoring,you would discover that this does not only need a fence to protect it from the animals ,but water and manure too

It is therefore important to protect especially fruit trees that may be exposed to stray animals like goats , sheeps and cows.. This can be done by building a fence around the fruit trees or by getting Palm fronds and planting them around the planted fruit trees such that stray animals cannot cut the tree or eat off the leaves.

Also in monitoring, you may discover that the fruit trees need more manure and water especially if it is during the dry season. nonetheless if you had planted many fruit trees, the monitoring and evaluation process is going to help you understand the percentage survival rate of the trees, as well as check other factors that may be hindering the growth of the trees, or that are helping the trees to do better. Monitoring and evaluation is a very important aspect as far as tree planting is concerned it helps you to be able to understand how to plan to plant better and steps to takes or mistakes to avoid in subsequent planting.
