About Book

This book is about a young boy named Harry Potter who initially lives quite an oppressed life with an uncle and aunt, until one night he learns that he in fact, is a wizard and is to depart to Hogwarts, a school for teaching witchcraft and wizardry. Not only that, but he also gets to know that he is the chosen one who managed to defeat the notorious Voldemort when he was just a child. In this particular book which is just the beginning, Voldemort attempts to return to the real world, hoping to get his hands of the philosopher’s stone, a stone that is capable of converting any object into gold, and can also give his devoured self a body of his own. This leads Harry and his friends Ronald and Hermione to a dangerous quest to stop him from doing so.

My favorite character in this book is Albus Dumbledore since the way he is depicted as a symbol of wisdom throughout is quite impressive. His words, actions, demeanor, and overall impression was quite empowering for me as a reader. In addition to all of this, his slight sense of humor along with the depiction of calmness adds the cherry on top.
