How To Use A Makeup Mirror

in #dtube5 years ago

In today’s video, you will learn how you can use a makeup mirror to create any sort of beauty look you desire.

When I first started getting into makeup—more than just lips or mascara—I never understood how people could use a little makeup mirror to create full makeup looks. I found these mirrors limited and irritating as you can only see one bit of your face.

However, over the past few years, I’ve discovered many tips and tricks to correctly utilize a makeup mirror to apply amazing makeup looks. Let’s dive into these best practices so you can get the best results from your own mirror.

Tip 1: Is Bigger Always Better?

A makeup mirror can come in multiple sizes, however, the larger mirror can be very useful if you want to see your whole face and look while applying makeup. While large mirrors can stand in front of you or hang on the wall, they are typically secured so you’re unable to get a closer look at your makeup if needed.

Tip 2: Mirror, Mirror…In Your Hand

While I once never understood how to use a small mirror properly, I now can’t live without it. Small mirrors are great if you just want to focus on one thing. For example, if you’re creating a dramatic smoky eye—you have the ability to move the mirror around so you can see every detail while applying the makeup.

Tip 3: Two is Better Than One

Personally, I use two mirrors while doing my makeup. With this technique, I check the whole makeup look with the larger mirror to see how it will appear from a distance and verify how well it’s blended. Then, the little mirror comes in handy to use for the small details—like eyes, lips, eyebrows, etc.

Bonus Tip: Find Your Lighting

To receive the best results from your mirror, ensure you have good lighting such as sitting in front of a window (for natural lighting) or in the bathroom.

There you have it! With these tips in mind, you can use your own makeup mirror to create beautiful looks of your own.
