How To Apply Velvet Matte Lipstick with a Lip Brush

Are you always worried about wearing a beautiful, red lipstick because it transfers everywhere and it will mess up your makeup when eating? Is matte liquid lipstick too dry for your lips?

This is what I hear a lot, mostly from mature women, who have dry lips but don’t enjoy wearing a cream lipstick.

Introducing: Matte velvet lipstick.

If you’re tired of how matte liquid lipstick dries your lips, but are looking for an alternative, long-lasting solution—matte velvet lipstick is your answer.

Matte velvet lipsticks are creamy but dry into a powder finish which isn’t as dehydrating as matte liquid lipsticks. They are comfortable to wear and easy to apply and remove.

To get started, you will need the following tools:

• Matte velvet Lipstick
• Lip brush (Optional)

Step 1: Choose a Velvet Lip Shade

Explore your local drugstore or high-end store’s selections and ask if they have velvet lipsticks available. Test the shades and pick the one or more that you fall in love with. You can swatch them on the back of your hand to see how the finish will look and if the colour suits you.

Step 2: Apply the Matte Velvet Lipstick

Once you have your colour picked out, it’s time to apply that beautiful shade onto your lips.
Start off with the cupid’s bow and use the profile of the lipstick bullet to create a nice shape.
Then, move towards the upper outer corners and connect those with the cupid’s bow.

Move on to the lower lip by starting off in the centre and moving towards the outer corners to connect with the centre.

Step 3: Create a Clean Lip Shape

If on hand, you can use (optional) a lip brush to create a cleaner lip. If you already have a beautiful lip shape, you won’t have to worry about it all day long.

Take some lipstick on the lip brush and clean up the edges by creating an even shape. Connect the outer corners towards the cupid’s bow to make it stand out and then move on to the lower lip by connecting the outer corners with the bottom centre of your lip.

Step 4: Let it Dry

As the lipstick dries, you’ll feel that it turns more into a powder-like formula but doesn’t suck the moisture out of your lips. You still can press your lips together and feel the creaminess, so it hasn’t dried down completely.

Matte velvet lipstick’s formula stays long-lasting even if you eat or drink something, and you won’t have continuously reapply it. You don’t have to worry about it coming off quickly with your first sip of coffee and can feel confident all day long!
