Elymus farctus, dune construction
The herb Elymus farctus is a principal component in the fixation of sand on primary dunes. The wind in the tide topline has lower force, and then the first herbs have their opportunity. The same herbs reduce more the wind velocity and the dune grows in height, and another species colonize it.
