Carnival Cruise - Caribbean June 2018 - Montego Bay, Jamaica P3
Just down the road (walking distance) from Doctor's Cave is Margaritaville, another couple from the cruise ship that we were talking to at the beach stated that they always go there and that the food and drinks are good and they are never disappointed. Here are a few pics of Margaritaville that we snapped from a local boat that we paid to take us out to where multiple catamarans from the cruise outings were tying up for snorkeling purposes. It looked like it was probably a fun place.
We didn't make it there because the local boatman recommended that we go to a place called the Pelican that was just down the street from Margaritaville.
He also recommended that we eat the ackee and swordfish. I only saw ackee and codfish on the menu but when I asked the waitress if she had ackee and swordfish she smiled and stated yes. All that I can say is that it was AMAZING and is a must do if you go to Jamaica. Of course it wasn't until I got home that I realized that ackee was a fruit that could kill a person if improperly harvested and prepared. What will also probably make you laugh is that I also thought ackee was a type of fish until the dish was served and I realized that it was something different.
Paired with a local beer and some conch chowder it was quite the meal.
Yum, wish I could taste.
