Learning Mathematics With Manipulative Can Help Children Happy Learning Mathematics (21st Century Learner)
Dear steemian friends. i will share about learning mathematics with manipulative.
Teaching mathematics for children can be one of the most difficult challenges a teacher or parent can face due to varied differences in individual teaching methods and learning styles. For many, mathematics is a dirty word, but it does not have to be. Learning math can really be a plausible fun subject by using real and optional Manipulative examples. There are some mathematical DVDs that teach basic concepts through fun, everyday applications. Parents and teachers can use manipulative mathematics to visually depict basic mathematical principles such as, simple recognition numbers and counts until problems are solved with pre-algebraic words for children from kindergarten through high school.
My own child was confused, bored and even afraid of math, but by using humor, real life was fun with the numbers I was able to teach my kids the basics they lost and opened the door to find new tricks to help them by memorizing. By building every new concept in others, I can take advantage of my children's natural ability to remember and use what they learn. And I do not know about you, but word problems are always a challenge for me. The Word problem, covers a wide scope of math skills and I have found combining both video tutorials with Manipulative maths a very useful way to help teach my kids how to solve the pesky word problem.
So how can using Manipulative or real-world items make learning mathematics easier and more fun for kids? Take for example kindergarten and first-graders, using apples to teach fractions, or cars to serve as rulers, and even a bear hunter who shares his snacks we can use household goods and real fun life to help your child get involved in mathematics. With an early start you can include a complete list of concepts from the top Math curriculum such as; number recognition, counting and sorting, and then using Manipulative math to reinforce concepts such as addition, subtraction, place value, money, time, estimation and geometric shapes. What helps make this method so effective is that it can touch visual and tactile child recognition, which is a very active part of the child's development, to help them remember.
Manipulative math lends itself to tactile and visual approaches of learning with the flexibility to handle multiplication, division (long and short), estimation, mathematical properties, equations, factors, prime numbers, spatial relationships (like angles and coordinate planes), time zones, convert measurements, fractions, and more. Using instructional video aids such as MathTacular in conjunction with top math programs, including Horizons, Saxons and Singapore mathematics curriculum really take the mystery out of more than 50 concepts.
As a parent of children who are struggling with math, I highly recommend giving Manipulative maths and real examples a try if your kids are struggling as well. There are several highly recommended math curriculum complete with books, DVDs, and manipulative math kits that can help your kids on the right track. Learning math might not be as exciting as playing Super Mario, but it can be fun and easy to understand.
