Asslamu Alikum

I only like eating food cooked by my mother and Khalas (aunts). My mama once said "I'll hire a maid for kitchen". I told her You can hire many but the food will be cooked only by you. This post is written for the contest From my Mother's kitchen organized in Steem for Pakistan community, because my mother's kitchen is the only place that knows how to cook amazing food. let's get started.

My mama is the best Chef in the world <3

My mama is one of the best cooks in the world. She is always dedicatd to make good and healthy food. If there's a risk that someone from family might not eat a particular dish she will make 2 dishes instead.
I literally feel so blessed that the food I eat is cooked by my mama and that she exactly knows how to cook proper food. She's the best mom ever. I assume someone said this statement correct Home is where food don't taste bad and my mama is my home.

The 5 dishes for me

Sharing her 5 dishes which I want to eat everytime seemed like a difficult question and it took me big amount of time to select top ones.

• Split Red Lentil (Masoor ke daal)
• Biryani
• Carrot pudding (Gager ka halwa/Gajrala)
• Chickpeas (Safeed chaney)
• Indial Round gourd/ Indian small pumpkin gravy (Teendey)

• Paratha roll (she only made it once and it was so good).

I guess I just dropped my favorite items but believe me she cooks them so good. I can only eat these if she's the one who cooked.

One dish from her kitchen with short recipie. The one I'll describe takes about 20 minutes to get ready.

A short Recipie

Let's do Naan pakora (pakorey waley naan), I've came across many people who don't know this item. So if you don't know it's a must try. Here's the recipe;

• make a mixture of pakorey
• take a naan
• add mixture on it and dip it in oil. tadaaa
• Ofcourse don't forget to take naan out of oil once golden brown.

How to make pakora mixture? (In case you don't know)
• Chop potatoes, onions, and green chilli (optional).
• add flour and water in the bowl containing vegies (that it covers the choped veggies, not make it too thin should be a bit hard but soft) can't explain it more precily.
• add spices (salt, red chilli powder, garam masala) to taste.

This is such a good dish, we often make it on fridays for lunch. Super crispy and yummy. serve with ketchup or chutni.

What food do you keep asking your mom for

I don't, It's my sister who decides everyday menu. If I am given this golden opportunity I would ask her to make Potato Flatbread (Aloo waley parathey), or Split Red Lentil (Masoor ke daal). And if it's about snacks I would go with Finger chips.

Me in kitchen

I'm not a kitchen person still I help her with heating tortillas and if the gravy needs crushing. I do often spin the spoon in pot and remove weight from stove. she don't trust me with major details because it often happens that I let the food burn.

Working in kitchen is a real hard work there by in order to appreciate my mama a bit for her effort we always say "the foods so good", followed by "yes mama!" from other person. It's rare but even if the flavor is not balanced the women working in kitchens deserve tiny words of appreciation.

I'll invite @nxzeehx @chiomzy810 to participate.

In the heart of nostalgia, the aroma of spices and love lingered in my mother's kitchen. Amidst the warmth of shared stories and cherished recipes, the worn-out cabinets whispered tales of countless meals. Seeking a revival, we embarked on a journey of renewal transforming memories with the artistry of cabinet refinishing. Each stroke of color painted a chapter, preserving the essence of a home where flavors and family seamlessly intertwined.
