"Footprints in the Twilight Forest"
The sun began to dim when Alif and Bima arrived at the edge of the Twilight Forest, a place they had always heard was full of mystery. The forest was dense, decorated with tall trees that towered like old pillars, and the sound of owls could be heard faintly, even though it was not yet nighttime. They came with one goal: to find Bima's grandmother's heirloom necklace that was lost there when a thief escaped through the forest.
"Are you sure we should go in, Lif?" asked Bima, staring at the dark thick trees.
Alif patted his shoulder. "I'm sure. If your grandmother thinks the necklace is important, we have to find it."
Their steps were hesitant as they entered the forest. Alif carried a small flashlight, while Bima carried a rope and a small knife just in case. The forest felt tense, the air was getting colder, and strange sounds echoed among the trees. The tracks looked fresh. "These must be the thief's tracks," whispered Alif. They followed the trail until they arrived at an old hut that was almost covered by wild plants.
“Grandma’s necklace must be there,” Bima said confidently. However, before they got close, they heard a deep voice from inside the hut. “Who is it?!” someone shouted from inside.
Alif and Bima looked at each other. Without thinking, Alif signaled Bima to sneak to the other side of the hut, while he would distract them. Alif knocked on the hut’s door with a stick, then ran towards the bushes. The big man inside came out angrily, carrying a torch in his hand. As the man went to look for the source of the sound, Bima slipped into the hut.
Inside, Bima saw a small wooden table filled with stolen goods. His eyes immediately fell on an old jewelry box. He opened it and saw his grandmother’s necklace gleaming in the moonlight that came through the gap in the roof.
However, heavy footsteps were heard approaching the hut again. Bima panicked, but Alif appeared at the back window. “Quick, come here!” he whispered. Quickly, Bima handed the necklace to Alif before climbing out the window.
The two of them ran as fast as they could out of the hut. The man finally noticed them and started chasing them. Once they reached the path, the man stopped chasing them.
“Thank goodness we’re safe!” Alif said, laughing with relief.
Bima smiled broadly as he held his grandmother’s necklace. “This necklace isn’t just an ordinary object. It’s a reminder that we always have someone ready to help, no matter how difficult the challenge.”
They walked home together, proud of their bravery. The Twilight Forest was now just a part of the story they would always remember.
