The Israeli military court prosecutor on Monday charged 12 charges against Ahed Tamimi, a 16-year-old Palestinian who appeared in a viral video beating Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank, according to her lawyer. The charges relate to the incident on December 15 near Ramallah and five others in which Ahed Tamimi was implicated last year, Gaby Lasky told reporters.

The prosecutor also requested five charges against Ahed's mother, Nariman Tamimi, who was also involved in the December 15 incident. The military court must in principle decide Monday if it follows the requisitions of the prosecutor. Nour Tamimi (20 years old), cousin of Ahed and she also protagonist of this video that went around the social networks and media, was charged Sunday with aggravated assault and attacking soldiers in office.
