Fabricating a Steel Gate for the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hideout!
That's Lassie in the picture above! In the background you might be able to see two concrete pillars where the gate will go.
Below is a rough sketch of the gate. Height will be 9". The upper section is the same as the lower section (left it blank in the sketch). The width is a little off. Going to fabricate four of these:
Here's the lattice work that I've done so far for the gate:
Also fabricated a couple of relatively big (14.5") a heavy (1/4") squares (tacked one of them together for the moment) for use when fabricating the doors.
Welding with 7018 1/8 rods. Tomorrow will pick up my Acetylene tank so I can do more cutting. The cutting I've done so far was done with an angle grinder and cut off wheels (way too to slow for a big project, much too noisy and it'd end up taking a 100 or so cut off wheels to cut everything).
Here's some steel I've got in the garage (that's Lassie walking around in there too!). 1/4" angle iron, 1/4" flat bar and also 1/2" x 1/2". There's some 3/8" x 4" flat bar at the bottom of the pile that I'm going mount to each concrete pillar.
Will take more pictures and keep you updated my fellow Steemians. Good night!
