RE: More To Love - My Polydactyl Family

in #life7 years ago

loved your story
My eldest son was born with webbed fingers, his middle and ring fingers were joined together by skin and when very tiny it looked as if you could just cut them separate with a pair of scissors! but no - we had to wait until he was 4 yrs old and then operation involving taking skin grafts from his thigh to make strips down between the fingers. This was a painful time for him (and for us watching him go through it. - 4 nurses were needed to hold him down when they changed the dressings on his hands and the crying was awful) Being a parent can be so hard xxx

Thank you so much for reading @nannyjoan! Oh my goodness I can imagine how hard that was seeing him crying like that because of the pain. We as parents really go through some difficult times.

I knew someone in high school that had webbed feet. He never got them corrected but he also never seemed to have problems with them.
