THE DIARY GAME - 29TH MAY, 2022 - IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD TODAY

Hello steemians,

Lately I have not been feeling very well due to my ulcer recently giving me some issues. I have had a minor form of ulcer for some time now and I have made it a priority to stick to the strict diet provided to me by the doctor.

Even in school, I made sure to report to the cook so that they will add my name to the roster of people on special diet. That way, I will be able to keep my diet on check in order not to bring about any serious problems.

But unfortunately, I had some peppery food this week which caused me to pass out from some stomach pains. I was sent to the hospital and I am feeling much better now. While I was at home, I decided to take a walk through town to see what was happening. But first, I had no money on me so I decided to make a withdrawal first.

After I had some money in my pocket, I visited my favorite chips joint for some snacks. This place is operated by one old man in the neighborhood and he always seems to have the best “chips”(snacks) at all times. I bought a handful of the chips and decided to walk through town a bit more to enjoy some fresh air.

The place seems so calm today unlike most Mondays. Usually, you will see all kinds of activity along these streets. It is probably because of the immense hardship in our economy right now. People seem to be quite tired.

I then walked along the streets till I saw these fresh watermelons and mangoes. Usually, I like the small mangoes popularly called "saloo" over here but these ones looked ripe to I bought some for 10 cedis.

When I returned with them home, my mom was very happy and we all really enjoyed them.
