**Steem4nigeria. Accelerator contest week 63:The lies I grew up believing
INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone, greetings to you all. I'm writing about the lies I believed while growing up.
Growing up as a child, people had told me numerous lies in order to make me depart from what I intended to do or to make me believe things following my childhood mentality.
WHAT WERE THE LIES YOU BELIEVED WHILE GROWING UP
As a child, I was told that whenever I eat any fruit and when I mistakenly swallow the seed, It will germinate from my head. And whenever I picture the scene, I'm always likely to be scared and I'll do everything within my power to prevent swallowing seeds. And sometimes, when I mistakenly swallow the seed, I always cry my eyes out believing that after some days, I'll look like a human with a growing tree on her head 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
*** I also had this believe that as a girl child, when ever you communicate with a male , you are likely to become pregnant. So I was asked to stay away from them, which I did .
*** I also believe all this moonlight stories that talks about tortoise, how tricky and cunning they were. And I grew up believing that tortoise are actually what people says they were, i.e they can talk, and they are also trickish.
*** I was also told that whenever I'm eating, I shouldn't keep my hands on the ground because it will make the food I eat become a waste, they said all the food will go into the ground ( Funny) . I never knew they said all that to make me sit in a good posture of eating. And also they told me that whenever I'm eating and a piece of my food fall down, that I shouldn't carry them because the devil that lives in the ground had already eaten the food.
*** I also believed that whenever it's raining. I shouldn't wear necklace, earrings or hold anything that is of metal, if not when there's a lightening, I would be striked by it or whenever there's a lightening, I should claps my lips together soon I won't be affected by the lightening.
WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION AFTER FINDING OUT THE TRUTH AS AN ADULT?
Growing up, I realized the truth bit by bit . I realized that I was been fooled and I find it very funny. Discovering the truth about the lies I was told really made me feel the mentality of a child, how children reason and I couldn't even imagine myself believing all those lies. The funniest part thing is , at then, I took the lies so serious and I was even advising my friends that what is been said is the truth and that they should follow that part.
DO YOU SUBSCRIBE TO TELLING LIES TO YOUNG MINDS IN A BID TO PROTECT THEM OR YOU CHOOSE TO CALL A SPADE A SPADE.
IF I have young ones around me, I'll prefer telling them lies because children seems to be very stubborn and if a person doesn't use that method, they won't learn , they'll keep on doing what they are told not to do. So in order not toN stress yourself, you tell them lies and it'll scare them.

Thank you very much for the comments. I never knew wearing necklace is dangerous when it rains, I thought it was mere lies.
About the pictures, I really don't know what the problem is, I tried putting in pictures but it refused to load so I decided to remove them
