Achievement 2 @nateglobal - Task : Basic Security on Steem

in Newcomers' Community4 years ago

Greetings to you Steemians,

When I was a child, my memory was soo strong that I could hide things and forget where I hid them😂😂 😂 Thanks to all bees for the hard work they do in producing honey, my memory its quiet better now and so reliable that it has been reminding me of how bad I am at remembering passwords. It did a good job reminding me of inaccessible accounts I have forgotten the passwords and prompted me quickly to store my steemit passwords in a text file, and upload it on a secure cloud storage😄

To me, the entire steemit platform is like a large company. In this company are four main managers. These managers are given charge over four major activities. The first manager is responsible for social activities such as interaction with visitors, receiving visitors etc. This manager is given a code called the #PostingKey for access into his office where he can perform all his duties. The second manager is responsible for managing all transactions and accounts related task. For access into the office for performing this tasks, he is giving a code called the #ActiveKey. The third manager is responsible for managing all secretarial activities .For access into his office, he is given a code called the #MemoKey. The CEO of the company made this managerial allocations and its corresponding keys to ensure that if at any point, one of the security access codes is compromised by a hacker or intruder, access to this hacker or intruder will be limited in such a way that the best he can do is to harm only one section of the company, instead of the entire company. Finally, the CEO has a code called the #OwnerKey. With this key he is able to access the control room and change the keys needed for managing the various sections of the company when the need arises. In the control room, the CEO can change every other key including the #Owner key.

What happens then when the CEO mistakens Blebbistatin pills for his morning supplement tablet and then forgets the #OwnerKey?

Well, this is a bad omen and shouldn't happen, but if it does, there is fire on the mountain and only one thing can quench it. The CEO must sleep untill he gets hair on his teeth. The curse will be broken and the keys will tatoo on his forehead. Just kidding right 😂😂. The CEO must go for his company ownership documents which is called #TheMasterKey. With this key the CEO can reclaim control over the company and generate new passwords for all departments. The #OwnerKey is the next most important key after the Master key. If gotten hold of by a hacker, your account can suffer a big blow.

What if the CEO leaves the company registration documents ( #MasterKey )in a bar?

Only three things happens. #Doom, #Doom and #Doom .The account is lost and lost for ever to whoever finds the #MasterKey.. To ensure I don't loose my #MasteyKey, I put it in a text file and keep online versions of it in a very secure cloud storage. The text file contains only the keys with no steem related description in the content and filename. Should it be found, the finder wouldn't know its a password to my steem account.

Before one can make any transfer, he must first login to his wallet with his active key. When one visits the wallet page without logging in with his active key, the Steem, Steem Backed Dollar and Steem Power values will appear alright but without the clickable options required for transactions. To make a transfer, the user must click on the arrow close to the action buttons and select the operation to carry on that particular type of steem from the drop down menu.

Steem, Steem Backed Dollars and Steem Power

There are three types of steem.
The Steem Power #SP represents the glory or strength of the user. It mainly increases via awards from community contributions and corresponding awards. However, one can also increase or decrease it by a process called powering up and powering down. Powering up is when one converts liquid Steem to Steem Power. However, Powering down is when one converts Steem Power to Liquid Steem. Steem Backed Dollar (SBD) and Steem can both be transfered, but steem Power is delegated to another user for carrying out activities on the platform such as posting, commenting and upvoting. I ask for a lot of blessings for the brains behind this innovative platform and all those contributing to its maintenance and growth.

#Thank You
