Showcase April - At a Book Sale, Under a Motorway Bridge, Listening to Rock n Roll
My blood froze solid and I gasped when I heard those words; " There's a book sale on, let's go"
And so we went and what a bizarre event it was! Firstly, it was at a pop-up art market under a motorway bridge and between two highways. There was, however, no art! All the art booths were closed up and so there were just these tables full of books on sale, and a small stage, from which was emanating some fabulous classic and original rock and roll.
There were even bargain knitting and sewing books for just 50B, ideal for the ladies of the needlework communities if they ever decided to cross-stitch a temple!
A bag of 24 books later and we were back on the scooter and on our way home.
The wife choosing yet another 'penny dreadful'!!
You don't hear much Rock n Roll in Thailand so this only added to the surprise. It was like being in a surreal scene from a Tarantino movie!
It tempted me into trying to upload a @dtube short video!!
Even after 7 years in Thailand, its ability to be oddly surprising remains undiminished, and as always, the exact location is situated proudly on Steemit World Map :-)
(don't be surprised that the pin is actually sat on a motorway!!)
