Forgiveness

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus said to him, I say not unto you, until seven times: but, until seventy times seven.

Forgiveness may be one of the difficult acts to conduct as we go through life, especially when we are betrayed by one we trusted dearly or when we know and believe we do not deserve what was done to us. There are people whose good deeds get repaid with bad deeds rather and they wonder if they should even continue to do well or forgive these individuals who may have sin against them.

You are not alone if you have these thoughts or have been victims of such incidence. It is probably the reason why the phrase “To err is human” has become so much popular in our contemporary society. But is it no excuse for the bad acts we commit, irrespective forgiveness is serve better to he who forgives than the person seeking forgiveness. When you forgive you let go of a great burden, on your psychology and your conscience and you drastically improve your overall health.

Christ knew this and I believe it is the reason why he mentioned that for every single individual who falters against us, we ought to forgive him seventy times seven times. Not to say keep count of how often someone hurts or offends you but the moral is to let go and move on with your life and not be held back by someone’s petty acts against your well-being.

It is not as easy as it sounds, but it is doable, open yourself to the directions of the Holy Spirit and you can be rest assured it gets easier. Thanks for reading and have a nice time.
