Spending Half of the Day In the Hospital and the other Half Marking Scripts - 09/05/2022

These days the workload keeps piling up, Ghana keeps getting inflations every blessed day, fuel prices have now crossed the 10 cedis mark and one can but wonder what next? Mondays are one of the busiest days of the week for me because of which i always have to wake up earlier to begin my day early and also on a good note of planning adequately for it, having a good breakfast and keeping my energy up.

I was up before 6am in the morning and before 7am i had been able to complete most of the morning routine including treating myself to a delicious breakfast of toasted bread with margarine and corned beef spread. I was ready for the day, i left for tech junction to take a troski to the hospital i was assigned to work, i got there early enough, by 7:45am i was there and i was able to sort things out and ready the office to receive patients before 8:00am which is the time work officially starts.

Interestingly once work began i had patients trooping in till 1:00pm in the afternoon. No lunch break for me then, there were lots of interesting cases, a sad one though that stuck with me for a while was a patient who had boiling water which had been used to cook cassava pour all over her face, she had been seen by the MD and was referred to me to check whether the eye was affected in anyway. Hopefully there wasn't much of a damage but lots of inflammations were going on and i had to manage those and ask her to come back in a weeks time.

I closed from the Hospital and went back to the faculty to continue the rest of the work. I had some few scripts to clear still and so i got working, marking as many as i could. The students numbers are now at an alarming rate and i have come to sympathize with lecturers on their work load and why they were on strike for a better allowance.

Before the 5pm closing time was due i was already exhausted, i had eagerly wishing for me to get to the house as soon as possible so i could take that very well deserved rest but i was also very much hungry and so i had to pass-by one of my favorite food joints around before heading home, but i didn't delay with it, as soon as i had it, i sank my teeth into it before long i had finished it up. I just got myself a cold shower afterwards and before i realized, it was already dawn for the next day. Haha, and so that was how my day went, i hope you had a good one yourself.
