So the math does not average out much in favor in potions for quests. But if you already have them, might as well take advantage.

Somehow they don't work that well for me on quests lol.. but I had a nice round of potions (just ran out a day ago) .. It's always nice to see those legends or golds pop up though, with or without potions :)
