Do you like macrophotography?

If your answer is yes, you may be an experienced photographer. But you can be also like me, someone who is discovering the marvellous macro world and trying to show what has achieved.

With nice camera and proper macro lenses the possibilities are much greater and the quality of images better. However if you cannot invest and get the gear it does not mean to give up. I still cannot afford to buy camera and I continue with what I have available. So, let me show you how with very little everyone can start to create amazing photos.

An year ago I got a new smarrphone. I did not know much about its camera. One day I took a bunch of tiny flowers, sprinkled water on top of them and tried to focus on the droplets. I did not know what to expect, but I knew that hardly I can make anything remotely close to the photos I have admired.

That did not discourage me as I felt it was a good start and l tried more close-ups of other flowers. Then by chance or maybe it was beginner's luck, I managed to photograph insects. Let me tell you I never liked the bugs, but curiousity drove me further and I overcome the phobia. Still I will not get close to all bugs and I will avoid some of them.

Next thing I found is the macro lenses for smartphone. They come in set with wide angle and fish lenses. After I bought them, I found same much cheaper and I got the second set for just 2 EUR.

The camera of the phone has 4x zoom and with extra 10x from the lens i can get more detailed pictures.

For example.

The photo of the flower without zoom.

Next is 4x zoom, just the camera.

And with the lens.

I like to play with the zoom options and depending on what I wish to capture to try different ones.

The lens is clipped on the phone. The black one is from the the cheaper set.

And the back side. The lens is universal and allows to be used at any smartphone.

Simple as it seems, it requires patience to focus and to capture the best moment. Especially with the bugs,

I usually don't post same images twice. I made a collage of some photos I have used in old posts to give you an impression of what I have achieved just with smartphone and simple lenses.

Ever since I got these lenses I did not stop practicing. The possibilities are endless and the little world hides big surprises.
