How to relax after a stressful day? - 4 + 1 Tips to relax

in #cervantes7 years ago

These last days are being a bit stressful at work, there is a lot of work to be done and the result of the year depends largely on how we are able to manage my colleagues and I the situation. I have noticed that stress influences my mood and changes my mood, for this reason, I have begun to perform a series of actions to relax that I will share with you

1- BREATHING
Undoubtedly, of all the techniques to relax that I have tried, controlling the breath is the one that has the most immediate effects. In addition, it has the advantage that we can do it anywhere, regardless of where we are.

To relax we must breathe in and breathe out slowly, taking a deep breath for several seconds and releasing it slowly. The exhalation should last a little longer than the inhalation to perform the exercise correctly. Additionally, breathing must have a constant rhythm, and it must be deep. We can notice the effects enormously with only 2 minutes. This technique is incredibly useful and simple.

2- CONTEMPLATIVE LISTENING
Another very useful technique that I recommend is contemplative listening. Contemplative listening consists of paying all your attention to a sound, listening carefully and directing all your thoughts to it.

They usually use sounds of nature, a relaxing piece of music, etc. I particularly love hearing the sound of a river that is inside a forest. It relaxes me a lot.

3- MUSCLE RELAXATION
I do this simple technique very often, but it has a special effect when I have had a hard or stressful day. When we face situations of stress or that produce anxiety the muscles of our body tend to become tense and to seize up.

It is very common to neglect the posture during these periods and it is very useful to stretch to relax our muscles. Particularly what I do right when I get home is to get in the shower with hot water and stretch the muscles of the back, neck, arms, shoulders and legs.

4 + 1- THE FOOD AND THE REST
It is also usual when you live this kind of situations not paying enough attention to what we eat. We usually eat anything, and we are not aware of the negative consequences of eating badly, or not eating enough. Our body needs energy, and we must eat well especially when we are in stressful periods.

Similarly, when we spend periods that require a lot of energy and concentration, we are not aware of the importance of good and sufficient sleep. Particularly I think that my body needs rest especially in these periods and I try to give it as much as possible.

CONCLUSION
With these 5 tips we are working both the MIND and our BODY. Both essential to manage stress and help our body to return to a more serene, relaxed and productive
