in OCD4 years ago (edited)

After the Turkish capital of Constantinople, which is one of the largest historical cities, I wanted to visit another historical city.
People say all roads lead to Rome :)
I traveled from Malta to the Italian capital. From the airport to the Hotel I traveled by bus. On the way to the hotel on my right, I saw the famous architecture, the Colosseum :)

The Coliseum is one of the most visited attractions in the world. About 7 million people visit it annually and it is on the list of the 7 greatest miracles.
The Coliseum was built 2000 years ago in just 10 years. The construction began during Emperor Vespasian and was completed during the reign of his son Domitian. He wanted to gain the favor of his subjects and their Gods.
The Coliseum was for the entertainment of the people and the emperor's honor. It was the place where festivals of gladiator fights took place. The fighters in the arena were slaves or prisoners of war but they lived better than other slaves. Gladiators fought against each other, but also against various wildlife: lions, tigers, leopards, bears, wolves, rhinos, hippos, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles.
I'm sorry I didn't make it to the inside to show you the photos inside.

The bus continues on and I reach the hotel. A beautiful room for me and the girl, all in marble, beautifully ethereal and wonderful staff. The destination is near the center of Rome and near the Vatican. It was evening and we went to bed. In the morning, I wake up and head for Rome.

After the walk, I come to the Vatican or officially the Vatican State is an enclave in Rome that covers an area of about 44 hectares and has about 840 inhabitants. The name Vatican is derived from the Vatican Hill on which the Vatican is located.

Entering it is an incredible feeling, you feel a different energy. When you walk in front of you is St. Peter's Basilica.

St. Peter's Basilica is a major feature of the Vatican. It was built between the 16th and 18th centuries and replaced the building that used to be in that place, which housed the relics of St. Peter.
The Basilica is full of numerous works of art, including the statue of Constantine made by Bernini, the famous Mosaic mosaic of Moses, as well as Michelangelo's famous Pieta. The huge dome, 119 meters high, is supported by four pillars, and directly below the dome is the Papal Altar, below which is the tomb of St. Peter.

The Vatican is the most visited country in the world in terms of population. As many as 5.5 million tourists visit it annually. The country's surface is 0.44 square kilometers, so it can travel longitudinally and transversely in minutes. Most of the territory is inaccessible to tourist visits. Much of the surface is occupied by gardens extending over the slopes of Mons Vaticanus. Vatican Gardens are among the most beautifully nourished in the world. 20 gardeners are constantly taking care of the flowers and other plants. The gardens are adorned with beautiful fountains, the most famous of which is the seventeenth-century Galeon Fountain. The state also has 28 churches and other landmarks scattered around Rome and its surroundings. Of all the sights, the most prominent is St. Peter's Square, St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum and Library as well as the Sistine Chapel.
