Oh babe, beautiful little stranger,
Blank guiltless rookie,
Curious starer of the world.

You saw the flowers and the butterflies,
The smiles of little Byron and the other kiddies as they made their little slides.
The birds flocking past and the pups tottering last
The multicoloured blocks and the towers.
Your gullible eyes gobbling all the bubbling in.

Oh, babe, now nature has cringed
And you find in the air all the good erstwhile hinged
The very ground has quaked and raked all in its wake
And a flood gulps away your scenery.
Now, babe, there're only rubbles when forth your eyes reaches,
These ugly dirt and overturn.

But as you gaze, every now and again,
The towers and blocks and birds and petals, and pups are there again.
And as by the kiddies run,
In the mirage before you, before it vanishes again,
You get a bye bye from Byron.
