Yeah such articles usually are when they talk about Free, or Inexpensive energy. Never know though. I tend to read articles on new energy methods.
Things like Hygroelectricity (not misspelled) and such, and think "that's pretty cool" and then they tend to not manifest.
I wonder how much is due to it being fake, and how much of it is due to the same problem that existed since Tesla first proposed free energy occurring.

Hygroelectricity is a type of static electricity that forms on water droplets and can be transferred from droplets to small dust particles. The phenomenon is common in the earth's atmosphere but has also been observed in the steam escaping from boilers. It was the basis for a proposal by Nikola Tesla to tap electricity from the air, an idea which has been recently revived. Hygroelectric charge is the likely source of the electric charge which, under certain conditions such as exist in thunderstorms, volcanic eruptions and some dust storms, gives rise to lightning.

Yeah, when I heard about it places that were very humid there were devices that could supposedly tap into that and actually produce some energy. It supposedly didn't work too well in non-humid areas.
It's been probably a half a decade or more since I first heard about it, and I haven't really looked it up for awhile.
That is just one of the weird "energy" techniques I've read about.
