Cleaning the Akpabio International Stadium For Our upcoming Regional Convention, 20th to 22nd December 2024

Jehovah's witnesses are clean people. Included in the arrangements for the upcoming regional convention is the cleaning of the International Stadium in my city where the regional convention will be held.

Yes. This is the first of its kind. The first time in the history of Nigeria where our regional convention is to be held in that city. Approval was given us to use that facility. And with the date fast approaching, it because pertinent that the facility be cleaned up.

How can we be able to clean that hive and mighty facility with +30000 capacity? Well. Announcement was made in my congregation that we are invited to join the many volunteers who will clean that facility on sunday last week. We can't possibly use that facility without cleaning it and we can't possibly contract it out. We love cleanliness because it's next to godliness. As the announcement was made. A lot of brothers and sisters volunteered to go and do the cleaning. I and my entire family also joined the first cleaning.

At this first cleaning, we were assigned to clean the seating areas, specially no 48b. Yes, the seating areas were clearly marked and numbered for easy accessibility. We were to sweep and remove cobwebs, then wash the chairs and the floor areas. It was the first time and as such, it involved a lot of work. It was as if the place hadn't been cleaned for the past 6 years as even the nylon were decaying already. We truly did a lot of work that day to clean the areas assigned. Others who were assigned other locations also did wonderful job to clean their part.

The workers there were so happy with us. In fact, if we are to use that facility again, they won't reject at all. We thoroughly cleaned the areas. Others came the next day and cleaned theirs. Still others. Everyone is taking turns to do the cleaning.

The facility is so big that just one day won't be enough to clean everything. Though others have been going. We are taking turns but we were invited again today being Friday, 13th December 2024. I didn't want to miss it even though my husband went to work and my kids went to school for end of the year's party rehearsal.

I joined my Christian brother in his vehicle to the cleaning with @elco after fitness training.

Upon getting to the location, we joined others who had already been assigned duties. Our duty was to wash the floor of the inside stadium. I will call it lobby because it is a passage that has the toilets. With the soap and other disinfectants that were provided along with brooms, brushes and other cleaning equipments, we swang into action. @bossj23 was supplying us with water and those detergents and disinfectants. We brushed the floor areas and ensured that we drained the water as well.

Then we were assigned the stairs to wash. We did and later we were also assigned a toilet to wash and clean. We cleaned it too without hesitation. Happiness radiates on our faces as we were carrying out these assigned tasks. Yes, it gives joy to serve. We took some pictures

Cleaning is still ongoing and it will continue until all places are cleaned up and before the convention date proper. The invitation is below

Admission is free and no collection is taken. Everyone is invited to attend if you can especially those within my city or country. It's going to be awesome as this is the first time we are using the stadium. Godswill Akpabio international stadium is the vanue.

Trust me, if my congregation is invited for yet another cleaning and I am disposed, I will love to be in attendance.

The experience is something I can't forget in a hurry. The humility shown by the brothers and sisters is next to non. No one did bid men there. Everyone too part in the cleaning irrespective of who you are, your status and more.

Keeping the place clean will surely attract much praise to our creator. This convention going to be superb. My clothes are ready. Arrangements are still ongoing as a family on how best we can enjoy the convention in terms of food preparation and other things. My hair and that of my daughter will have to be ready before that day. I will go shopping for food items by next week. I pray it will be stress free. I guess this is a convention to that @goodybest and @eliany will be attending? Am I right? Let's see how it goes!
