Week4: My part in a child a million smiles project food aid, location with SteemAtlas
For the week 4 of this a child, a million smiles project, Okere-blessing contacted me to inform me about a school that is close to her house which will be happy to receive this food aid. I gave her the go ahead to inform the school admin and to find out if they will need cooked or uncooked food. After making the necessary findings, she sent me the contact number of the school for me to finalise with them. I did and we booked appointment of the day to go for the aid.
Since they preferred uncooked food, I had to make efforts to get them ready. Yes, over here, noodles has become a generally acceptable uncooked food for the kids and it gives them great joy. Only the producers know what they added to the noodles that always put unique smiles 😁 on the faces of the kids. Well, I was able to purchase the quantity that our cash can carry on Monday and then we agreed to deliver them on Wednesday.
I spoke to @el-nailul over the phone and he told me that he will like to witness the presentation and to tap from the smiles of the kids when they receive the food aid. It was a welcome 🤗 development for me and I accepted to call him on WhatsApp video when we get to the school.
On the said dey, my team and I arrived at the vanue by 12.05 pm, we were late no doubt because I was told that their break time is usually 11.20 am. But, since it was on Wednesday, my fitness usually have their football game that day after our usual workout. So, that apparently delayed our movements. But thank goodness that we were welcomeed with open arms as soon as we got there.
First, we met with the school Proprietor in his office who gave us his profile as a retired civil servant in education and told us various posts he held in the past and then at his retirement, he decided to still go I to education to pass on the legacy to the kids and that his is passion. We were pleased to have met such a high profile personnel though retired and old but still vibrant and happy to have kids around him.
He welcomeed and blessed our efforts. Then, I called El-nailul on WhatsApp who also invited his lovely wife to join the call and he exchanged pleasantries with the Proprietor before we moved to the kids.

The kids were led outside where we were able to distribute 2 packets of noodles to each of the kids that were more than 130 students and the remaining were given to the teachers. The joy on the faces of the kids can be seen in the pictures and video link below.
Indeed, the kids really need food aids. There is nothing that gives them joy like food and this makes them more willing to learn and to pay attention in the class. We sensed their joy and their happiness as they all raised the noodles up and said, "thank you steem kids and thank you worldwide!". You can imagine their innocent voices as they shouted on top of their voices! I couldn't help but to rejoice and felt fulfilled. Yes, this is what I want, I want them to always be happy and gradually, we are on this mission and journey.

Next, the pictures below show the kids as they were out already, waiting to receive their shares with eagerness, they awaited our arrival. Imagine how sad they would have felt if we had disappointed! But, upon seeing us, they were so excited 😊😆!

Take a closer look at their faces and see how eagerly they awaited us. We couldn't resist but to first say hi and then showed them the WhatsApp video as El-nailul said high to them and spoke to them as well. They were so happy. I can't describe their joy.
We began to share the noodles to the kids. We gave them 2 each and we ensured that no one was left out. They all were told to remain outside until we were done and then take pictures with them.
