What is plagiarism❓

Plagiarism means that using other's work or ideas as own content with or without permission. If you incorporate someone else's work into your work without their acknowledgment then it'll be considered Plagiarism. Plagiarism is not specific. It may be intentional, unintentional, or anything else.

➤ Types of Plagiarisms:

There are different types of plagiarism that are seriously violating academic honesty. Now, I'll define the most important types of plagiarism that should not be used in steemit.

►Direct Plagiarism

Direct plagiarism means that if anyone transcript word by word of a section of anyone else’s content, without any attribution or quotations. This plagiarism is unethical, dishonest, grounds for disciplinary actions.

►Accidental Plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism means that without attribution if a person ignores to cite the sources & misquotes the sources. Everybody should learn how to cite their sources and to be careful when doing research. Don't think that accidental plagiarism is unessential. It is as serious as any other plagiarism. It is also unethical & punishable.

►Mosaic Plagiarism

Mosaic Plagiarism means that if a person borrows a group of work from a source without using quotation marks and finds synonyms for the main work and maintain the original meaning and structure. It is also punishable & academically dishonest.

►Self Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism means that if anybody submit their own previous work or mix parts of previous works without permission from their Instructor. Self-plagiarism also means that If a student submits the same assignments in different classes without previous permission from the professors. It is also unethical.

➤ How to Avoid Plagiarism:

Using someone else’s words or ideas without permission is Plagiarism. If anyone wants to avoid plagiarism, he/she have to correctly incorporate the sources into his/her content.

►Some steps to avoid plagiarism:

  • Keeping the track of sources which we consult in our research.
  • Paraphrase from our sources & add our own ideas.
  • Credit the original creator with proper citation & reference list.
  • Before submission, we must use a plagiarism checker.

In Steemit, it is very important to avoid plagiarism because plagiarism is extremely dangerous & unethical. So, everybody should be careful about Plagiarism. Thanks.
