I don't particularly care about this BUT I do wonder, if their progressive culture is so good and our old culture, so bad, why do they feel the need to relentlessly steal and subvert non SJW culture?

Well, define "mental illness". It's clearly a disorder, it's literally called gender dysphoria disorder in scientific terms, but that doesn't mean it's not like they just pretend like they feel super uncomfortable in their own body because of its gender. Imagine you, as a guy, had always been forced to wear dresses, and make up, and do all "girly" stuff, or in fact the other way around, you'd be getting crazy. To them, it feels like they have a female brain in a male body, or the other way around.
BTW, talk about being butthurt over what other people do that's none of your business, if somebody wants to make himself a new version of a movie that he likes, let him do it, what do you care? There isn't "one official Shakespearean play", except the ones he actually wrote.
I'm not going to define 'mental illness'. Demanding definitions for things which are clear to a thinking person is one of the ways in which postmodernists use to break down everything they want to destroy. Once they have a definition they'll seek an exception and use that to claim destruction of your concept. In short: nothing exists. Yet 'love', 'art' and 'civilisation' are all famously impossible to define.
As an Englishman with a love on English literature it's very much my business, particularly given that all Western cultures are currently under attack by Cultural Marxists. These 'variations' are just as much attacks on our culture as they are explorations of the confusion they take as their culture.

Gender is a social construct that has loose connections to sex, which is a binary spectrum of many differing possibilities. Do some research beyond 3rd grade biology and stop spewing your cringe garbage on the internet.

Does everyone else find it ridiculous that if you're against gays or blacks you're a racist sexist monster, but if you're against straights or whites you're a hero? WTF kinda of double standard non-sense world are we living in now-a-days? The left has literally gone insane.
PS, I have nothing against blacks or gays, but I also don't have anything against whites or straights as well... unlike the left which has contradicting positions on both which makes no damn sense at all...
