When we talk about the religious and cultural festivals in Pakistan, I can proudly call out several festivals whether religious or cultural and I am sure I would enjoy them all day long as long as I am alive.

In my heart, I have so many festivals which I want to pen down here and I can totally tell you whether I write about that particular festivals or not, they will keep roaming in my mind as long as I am writing.

Taking notes from the title image, I am sure you all can guess easily that I am going to talk about "Eid-ul-Fitr" as my favorite Festival. Beginning with the discussion regarding Eid-ul-Fitr, the First thing that comes to the mind of everyone is obviously the End of Ramadan and the beginning of Chand Raat.

Talking about Chaand Raat gives me goosebumps still because it is said to be the Night when Allah rewards those who kept fasts and prayed all Ramadan. Lailat -ul-Jaza. I don't have any Ahadees in mind to prove this but it was just taught to me and I believe it's the right thing. I feel sad that people don't focus on this thing and they go out shopping and other things mostly on this night when Allah is waiting for us to ask Him what we want. I just want this thing to be changed and now we move forward.

Can't talk much about the preparations that i have done this Eid because of my Mamu's Sudden death when we were in the last 10 days of Ramadan Karim. May Allah bless his would, Aameen.

The favorite thing that I used to do when Eid-ul-Fitr is near is to take out some time and call a Henna Expert friend. The application of Henna on Eid-ul-Fitr is a must for 90% of Girls. The rest 10% do it just to look good but they also do it lol. I don't have any of mine for this year because I didn't get them on my hands.

The second most special factor of Celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr is the Namaz of Eid. Yes, we don't go for Namaz but we send our brothers, father, and husband to Eid-gaah all dressed well and wait eagerly to welcome them back home after Eid prayers. It is a very proud moment that doesn't come again and again that we get to hug our father or get his hand on our heads. I guess everyone loves this and this is the most beautiful part of Eid.

When they are back home, we present them with food that is the righteous ones cooked for Eid Only. Especially at the house, there is Sheer Quorma, Kababs, and Parathas.

Source ~ Eidi for Everyone

Then comes the most beautiful part of Eid for many people. Especially for Girls as we are always hungry for some Eidi so that we get them and buy new things for us. We are usually not waiting for eidi to eat some snacks, ice-creams, or other things. Instead, most of the girls(If not), then at least I have pre-selected a few dresses that i couldn't get on Eid and some jewelry. As soon as I get my eidi and the market is open after Eid, I go to market and buy them all if I have enough money ;)

There are 3 days of Eid and here i would like to answer the question asked whether it's still celebrated the same way or not.

Since my childhood, we were forced to remember these things on the First Day of Eid, we all are bound to stay at home, don't invite anyone as it is strictly family time. So both of our chachu and their family visit our place on the first day of Eid and we celebrate quality time with each other. Exchange of Eidis also takes place on the first day :)

The second day is reserved for our Phuppos to visit our place and there is a grand Dawat of all phuppos and chachus and their families. Thus on this day too, we are not going anywhere and most probably not meeting anyone except if we call them or meet them in the morning.

On the third day, We meet our friends in the morning and in the evening we go to Our Nani's house. Thus this day is also reserved ;) Not much special time slots for friends outside family lol. I guess most of us have these routine during Eid. I actually have this routine and this is the things i have followed for the past 15 years and i have enjoyed this a lot. These are the perfect 3 days with pure family meetings <3

Then there are delicious food cooked on Eid. Foods such as Biryani, Quorma, Karhai, Pulao, handi and much more. Kids enjoy this Eid with their eidi and toys. Both men and women meet n greet each other and cherish their childhood memories Alhamdulillah. So it is i perfect family event and I enjoy this the most among all others. Nothing can beat the feeling of Celebrating Eid with Family <3

Here I am to end my participation post. The Month of Ramadan and Eid have gone and I pray that may Allah bless us all with the same spiritual behavior that we maintained during Ramadan and accept all our fasts. Eid Mubarak to all of you. Stay Blessed and take good care of yourselves.

Yours, Nimra Zahid.

Eid is my most favorite festival , i eagerly wait for it and also i start preparing before Ramadan as during Ramadan i try to worship more . Eid excitement is on another level , chaand raat is the most important part as we get ourselves pampered, put on mehndi and that excitement of getting next day doesn't let me sleep . Then counting eidi in end is also fun.

Exactly , Families system is highly appreciatable in Pakistan. Families system are very strong . Eid is a festival where we met and engage with our family. I always wait my uncle on Eid day . When they come then we start our Eid. Those feeling are really beyond.
You have covered all the points very well. Good much for your contest.

Awesome post. I like your presentation style. I like both things in your post. First is your EIDI. hehe. And then Nani's house. We also enjoy Nani's house so much. We enjoy missing that. But now my Nani is not well. SO pray for her also

first i'm sorry for your loss, may Allah bless his soul. Ameen

let me add a but to your knowledge, i also learned it this year, well this is not in our tradition but i've heard that it's sunnah for both males and females to perform Eid prayers in Masjid.
plus you wrote really good (thumbs up)

I can so relate to your post because this is exactly how I spend my Eid every year. All the days are reserved already for the family members. It is purely a family event filled with love and a lot of happiness.

You've mentioned a very important thing about the chand raat. Can't agree with you more. I hope this trend changes soon and instead of spending it outside in the market we dedicate these few hours to get close to Allah SWT and be rewarded for it.

Love reading your content.❤️

Aameen Inshaa Allah. It's high time now that we realize about these nights.
Eid is absolutely a family event and I love spending it with my family. I won't mind meeting my friends too but its something we have practiced all our life so far and I would love to continue with this only.

Thanks for the kind words said by you. I heartily admire your appreciation and support towards my content.
