SEC17 WK:#1: Forgiveness unites family
Hi there!
"Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace."
Forgiveness means different things to different people. For me, forgiveness is to let go of bitterness, resentment, bad days and anger. Forgiveness is being free from bondage, freedom to a sweet and beautiful life.
A life story on forgiveness
It all started when my uncle bought some properties in a faraway land. He was so rich that he bought properties everywhere and saved up for his children. This has been the way my family operates: once you have a family, you start buying properties in their names for their future.
My uncle has three young and beautiful ladies as daughters and three handsome men as sons. My uncle kept the documents on these properties safe, according to him, but he just can't explain how one of his daughters got hold of those documents.
At first, no one knew who had the documents. They searched and searched but couldn't find it. The men in the house became enemies with each other because they didn't trust themselves and suspected each other. The ladies, on the other hand, didn't know who to suspect.
The daughter who stole these documents had the intention of selling those properties and making away with their father's money, but she was unable to get a buyer until she met a buyer who knew the rightful owner of the properties.
The buyer went through the back to consult the owner of these properties to confirm the sales, but he said he was not the one selling, and in fact, he had been looking for his documents. The buyer quickly played along with the seller just to get hold of the documents.
He transferred the money to the lady's account, and the documents were handed over to him. This was when they knew that my uncle's daughter (Uche) was the one involved. She had planned to travel the next day after sales, but she went to inform the dad first. That was how the dad knew she planned to run away with his money.
She was allowed to pack up her things and prepare herself for travel. On the day of the trip, her dad called the man who bought the land to come around; my dad came, and my uncle's sons and other family members were present.
While she was about to leave the house, her dad called her to ask where exactly she was going. but she was unable to answer, and that was how everyone present started coming out as the drama unfolded. She was shocked to see the man who bought the properties there with other family members.
The dad quietly told her to please transfer the man's money to him and hand over his documents to him. She was dumbfounded for a long time, but she finally spoke at last, pleading for mercy.
She kneeled before everyone to confess what pushed her to sell her dad's properties. No one answered her except her two sisters, who were moved by her apologies and tears. They went to her, brought her up, and hugged her. They immediately joined her to ask for forgiveness.
It was a difficult moment of forgiveness, but what more could be done? She realized her errors and faults and asked for forgiveness. Immediately, her dad turned to her and hugged her so dearly, and then everyone came closer and joined my uncle in the hug.
Everyone felt so sorry for her. Ah, when I heard the story, I felt so sorry for her. She realized her wrongdoing and asked for forgiveness immediately. She deserves to be forgiven, although it's not usually easy to let go. But my uncle is a peaceful person who can forgive easily, unlike my dad.
She promised to prepare a delicious meal for everyone in the house just to say "sorry." They all ate in happiness, and forgiveness ruled that day!

Honestly, it is not easy to walk to someone who has offended you and asked for him or her for forgiveness. However, asking for forgiveness is the best way of resolving our dispute with one another we must learn how to swallow our pride and seek forgiveness for peace to rein. It is a thing to read your post. I wish you success.

A perfect story to reflect one still point one to see that there is so much power in unforgiveness only if we can make proper use of it. That is how life is actually. We must learn to let go and forgive people no matter what they do to us. It might actually be difficult but that is just the truth. We just need to keep it going and going no matter what it may be. There is no how it, we can still forgive yes. We can forgive no matter how it might look, no matter what they might have done but that is just the truth in. There is so much power therein. Life is actually there to throw to us what we don't expect. In fact we really need to consume the fact that God expect us to forgive people and so if God expect us to forgive, we must also forgive no matter what it may actually be. That is how life is actually.
