History of the first Islamic kingdom in Southeast Asia
Before the Ottoman (Ottoman) Dynasty in Turkey stood in the years six hundred ninety nine to one thousand three hundred forty one hijjriah or coincided with the year one thousand three hundred eighty five AD to one thousand nine hundred twenty three AD.
It turns out that Aceh is far in the eastern part of the world, precisely in the region of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
At that time an Islamic empire called Samudera Pasai appeared.
If the Ottomans begin to establish their power in the year of one thousand three queens eighty-five Maaehi, then Samudera Pasai has first raised the flag of his power in the land of Rencong in the year one thousand two hundred and sixty-seven AD.
The existence of the Samudera Pasai Sultanate was revealed by a Muslim nomad from Morocco, namely Abu Abdullah Ibn Batuthah in the year one thousand three hundred and four AD to one thousand three hundred and sixty eight AD.
In his book Ibn Batuthah entitled Rihlah ila I, Masyriq (Wandering to the East) mentions that.
"A green country with a large and beautiful port city, the king who is very fair is wise, the king and the people are very religious.
I am in herbal medicine with a dinner, the king is robed and sacrificed, riding an elephant.
that was what Ibn Batutah wrote when describing his admiration for the beauty and progress of the kingdom of Samudra Pasai which he had visited for fifteen days in the year one thousand three hundred and forty-five AD.
Meanwhile, in another Ibn Battuta travel record entitled Tuhfat al-Nazha, he said, at that time Samudera Pasai had become the center of Islamic religious studies in the Southeast Asia region.
Long before the Muslim Wanderer set foot in the first Muslim kingdom in the archipelago, a Venezuelan (Italian) explorer, named Marco Polo, had visited the Pasai Ocean in the year one thousand two hundred and ninety-two AD.
Marco Polo visited Samudera Pasai when he was the leader of a group that brought a queen from China to Persia.
Together with two thousand of his followers, Marco Polo stopped and stayed for five months on the Veranda of Mecca. In the story of the journey titled Travel of Marco Polo, travelers from Europe also admire the progress that has been achieved by the Sultanate of Samudera Pasai.
The Samudera Pasai Sultanate is located on the northern coast of Sumatra more or less around the city of Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, right now.
This Sultanate was founded by Meurah Silu around the year one thousand two hundred and sixty seven AD.
