This week, I would like to draw our attention to the importance of securing your account and some key things you might now be aware of such as checking your account authorities, account recovery, and many other things that could help to maintain the integrity of your account.

But the most important of all securities, is to secure your master key. This is because, if this key is compromised, you are at risk of losing everything in your account.

I have noticed that many steemians are still ignorant to the essence of securing their accounts and ensuring that they are not susceptible to a hacking event until it actually happens. This is when they become extra vigilant about the safety of their account and see the need to maintain the security of their account.

The one thing people are not aware of is that once your account has been hacked before, the hacker could have made some changes with your keys that are still in place even if you recover your account. They could change the outgoing routes of your account and still gain your tokens in the future.

This is why it is very important for all to be present for this particular meet up since we will learn so much more in the next few days.
