Blockchain will lead to Massive Economic Disintermidiation

One way to look at Cryptoassets is as the analog of conventional investing. Crypto assets are a way for founding teams developing blockchain solutions to get backing for their projects through a distributed network of investors leveraging bitcoin, or one of over 1300 of coins as can be seen on Coinmarketcap

Cryptoassets allow for anonymous crowd-sourcing of capital that is immediately tradeable. I foresee a great deal of angel and venture capiral investing migrating to Initial coin offerings (ICOs) over time. We are already seeing a number of non-blockchain ideas issuing coins.

We also have crypto analysts providing analysis of increasing quality that would help guide investors. I think these analysis services will grow in professionalism and sophistication over time.

There are already dedicated financial advisers managing cryptoasset portfolios on behalf of high-networth and retail clients. Hedge funds and Private Equity funds are also cropping up.

Michael Arrington, the founder of Techcrunch, announced the launch of a $100m hedge fund to invest solely in crypto assets. Limited Partners will make contributions exclusively in Ripple XRP coins. Salaries and distributions will also be made exclusively in XRP.

If you extrapolate out 15 years its plausible if not probable to see a world where centralized stock markets no longer exist — IPOs as we know would have been relegated to Finance and Economics history text books.

Blockchain will be the platform and the means through which almost every asset will be acquired, exchanged, depreciated, and disposed of.

I believe a handful of the organizations that will dominate significant chunks of the Cryptoeconomy exist in their infancy today.

There will be a few dominant Cryptoeconomy players that take a similar path like Amazon to become a large ecosystem of solutions and applications. Second generation platforms like Etherum and a third generation platform like Cardano are vying for the dominant platform spot.

There will be many more dominant Cryptoeconomy players that occupy lucrative niches and control sizable networks similar to FANG stocks (Facebook, Apple, Netflix, Google).

The Internet was really a great enabler. It has mostly evolved distribution channels and business models by digitizing products. Crypto and Blockchain will be the real disruption. It will flatten industries and replace the hierarchical nature of how the world is organized with decentralized inter-operable forms. I term this period in history as the beginning of the great disintermidation.

Disintermediation is the removal of intermediaries in economics from a supply chain, or cutting out the middlemen in connection with a transaction or a series of transactions.

Individuals will be empowered like no other time in history due to this great disintermidiation that is in its infancy. Governments, Corporations, and every form of hierarchical organizations will be impacted. I believe this shift will be exponentially more disruptive than the internet revolution.

The revolution will happen a lot faster than people think and many traditional organizations will not be able to make the shift because it will require massive cannibalization of their current business, and the leadership of many organizations will not have the skill set nor alacrity required to navigate through the delicate transition
