Agriculture Would have been more Productive and easier with Machineries
Greetings friends and lovers of agriculture

It's been months since I have been to the farm. This move was made due to the sprinkles of rain on the soil. The soil is hard, and harvesting tuber crops like cassava may not be that easy. Seeing this sprinkle, we needed to make use of this opportunity, but getting the soil was as hard as the bark of an iroko tree. We thought the rain had soaked the soil to some extent, but even with that we can't thwart our mission for an expectation cutoff.

With all these months of not planting and harvesting farm produce, I have always eaten so well; never a day have I gone to the market without seeing what I desire to purchase. Have you ever wondered how and what made this possible, especially with the increasing population and the subsistency in farming? Man's energy is incapable of this massive production, but harnessing machinery has made this possible.

The cassava I harvested, if processed, will last up to a week, and in a month, what we consume as a family can never be compared to our produce in a ratio of 1:5, meaning that our purchases are more than our product, so how then am I able to see food in constant supply? the introduction of technology.

Agriculture and food production would have been easier on the introduction of technology, I will be using the cassava processing process as an example, since that is what I did this very day, Normally if I had a tractor or a mechanised plow, I wouldn't need to used machete and spend hours clearing a small piece of land as a commercial farmer, it's energy demanding, the same machinery tills the soil and mixes up it's components, in a case where there is fertiliser it mixes up well, this precede the harvest and processing process which we will be delving in now.

On harvesting, local farmers may stick to a stem for hours, struggling to pull it off from the ground, while other farmers use mechanized harvesters, thereby reducing the losses of leaving some roots tubers in the soil. It took me more than 3 hours to hand peel this small cassava; how about those times when we harvested cassava that tripled this very one? I wondered how many hours it would have taken us to peel; I have never kept a record of it, but I can remember that whenever a day begins with the processing of garri (i.e., harvesting, peeling, grating, and pressing, if it is garri), the process will end at around 6 pm. Almost a whole day is dedicated to cassava processing. With machinery, the cassava (garri) processing is completed in a few hours, including the frying.

The struggle is so excessive, not to speak of the health problems encountered by farmers after subjecting themselves to hard labor; the use of machinery should be employed in agriculture to increase productivity, as the struggle by traditional farmers is too much.

I know how I felt when I processed this, and though it helps a lot to curtail the amount of money spent on a daily/weekly basis for purchasing food, I wondered how many months this would have lasted. A thumbs up to those consistent farmers who have worked so hard to provide food on the table; agriculture would have been far more productive with machinery.
I would love @chriddi, @walictd, and @akwaowo to give their take on this.
