Sing the Song Challenge 2

You Raise Me Up is very motivational; many times I felt I should back down. The truth is no one is left without life challenges, both the rich and the poor. Most times these challenges come so suddenly. There is a raw feeling I felt with the slow progression that comes with this song; the first line of the solo depicts how one feels with challenges, and the chorus emergence is like a lifeline that one holds on to. You Raise Me Up to more than I can be; this has given me strong conviction that I am not mediocre. I came to succeed, and nothing can battle that down, not even perception, not even myself. I can never forget spoken words like prolific or good things take time. The success route can never be smooth; challenges must come, and your willingness to face them shows your bravery. Backing down from challenges doesn't just reveal your weakness but your fear of success, which is failure. The sky is my starting point.

This song wasn't difficult at all when it comes to understanding the lyrics. The song ran through my bloodline for ages from the time I could relate with the lyrics. There is this popular Chinese kid that sang this at a very high pitch, and I love those magic progressions that broke a glass. I found a triggering place in this song, which, if you are not musical, it is very likely you won't notice, and that was the movement in the octaves, from a lower to a higher and a more higher octave that led the artist to go by a falsetto.

He started with a natural tone which eventually gave room for a progression, and the ability to move from a lower octave to a higher one while still maintaining the same key, the dark black and white video coverage, a few dark colours to signify a depressed state, and a joint unison by the vocalist show a more and more excited state.

It wasn't difficult if you start naturally, and that is what I did to break through and was able to maintain a steady flow without a seizure of sounds from the vocal cords. One thing in music is understanding the kind of voice that the artist produces. With this, you will know which area to fall on while singing. To sing this perfectly, we need a head voice. With the head voice a perfect sound is produced in the song, especially in moving from one octave to another.
