Neymar Goals and Buffon Clean Sheet in PSG's First Game

Paris Saint-Germain started the Ligue 1 2018/2019 opening week with a win over Caen. Neymar scored and Gianluigi Buffon clean sheets in the game.

PSG opened its appearance in Ligue 1 2018/2019 by hosting Caen at the Parc des Princes, Paris, Monday (8/13). Tuan Tumah immediately excelled in the 10th minute.

Neymar scored PSG's first goal in Ligue 1 this season, after continuing with Christopher Nkunku. His left foot kick could not be blocked by Caen goalkeeper, Brice Samba.

In that match, Neymar made four shots, with only one on target, two strayed, and one blocked. The Brazilian also released 70 successful passes, with whoscored giving him a rating of 7.14. It was also Neymar's first goal for PSG since February, before pulling out a few months due to a metatarsal injury.

That appearance at the same time proved Neymar was not affected by the criticism addressed to him throughout the 2018 World Cup. Previously, the world's most expensive footballer was criticized for being called fond of diving while defending the Brazilian national team in Russia last month.

Besides Neymar, Buffon also made his Ligue 1 debut with a clean sheet. The former Juventus captain made a save to help his team win 3-0, with two more goals scored by Adrien Rabiot in the 35th minute and Timothy Weah (89 ')

PSG's 3-0 win made Thomas Tuchel's team ranked second in the Ligue 1 standings 2018-1919. They only lost a goal from Olympique Marseille who won 4-0 in the first week over Toulose.
