On Patrol
This is a migrant hawker (Aeshna mixta), paardenbijter in Dutch, on patrol over a pool in the local peat bog. I think it is checking me out:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO100, f2.8, 1/1000s
And yes, this was photo attempt number 24; it refused to hover and just did flypasts.

This post makes me amazed, I like every one with regard to the dragonfly and I have also shared the post about the dragonfly several times but very in pity I never had a chance like in your post. When a dragonfly flies with its beautiful wingspan is one of the most precious moments, I always dreamed of getting a camera that has a high cruising and fast capture power so that I can find a picture of a mix with a variety of good positions.

Indeed. It didn't make the shot easier, but it greatly reduced the cost of the many attempts.
