Understanding Poetry #36: Morning Praises 2

He gives rest to the tired
And joy to the depressed.
He is the hope of the dull
And the glad are lightened up by Him.
He gives the stranger a home
And our strength to the very end.
He is our refuge from danger,
Our Saviour and Friend.
On our pillows,
His love rests its head.
He is the reason why -
The dying have peace
The dead will live again
The lowly find their own path
And obtain a prize at the end.
The breath of the holy he is,
Our Redeemer and Messiah.
I cry to Him
Whenever my feet stumble.
The pride of the humble He remains,
Also, the cross of the high.
When I wander in my steps,
Bend over me
In Your loving kindness,
Almighty Father and Lord.
Forever, I will confess
Your kingship and glory.
I will bless and praise Your Name
In all my deeds,
As long as I live,
My worship and adoration
Will be Yours,
Sovereign Ruler and Creator of mankind.
