Avengers Endgame - My first Impressions without Spoiler
It's a movie everyone's been waiting for. A movie that would bring the first 11 years of the MCU to a close. An epoch that concludes all previous stories. Avengers Endgame.
After last year's Infinity War, I simply ignored everything, but really everything that had to do with the sequel Endgame. I didn't watch any trailers, whenever I saw anything related to Avenger's Endgame, I clicked or pushed it away. I told everyone from my circle not to talk about it in my presence. I just wanted to see the movie without knowing. I also tried not to have any expectations in the movie although the yardstick was quite high after Infinity War.
And Friday evening it was finally so far. I watched the movie. I needed one day to digest the movie. And now, i think i can speak about my first impressions without spoiler and this is not a review like I do it in the usual style. With the real review I will wait one or two weeks. Until then most or nearly all fans and enthusiastic people have maybe watched Endgame and so nobody will have a problem.
With Endgame it is like with Infinity War, the movie is like it runs without a stop, or it seemed to me so, in a way. A little more than three hours running time means that there is a lot to tell and this time has to be filled accordingly. And I have to say, that the movie manages to be very entertaining, because the three hours the movie takes are flying by. I already had this effect with the pre-movie Infinity War and friends of mine felt the same way. There was no break during the whole movie and you didn't want it either. You just wanted to sit there and to watch the movie.
All the plot lines of the previous movies and even more characters are bringing like in Infinity War everything together very skillfully, which is also the logical consequence. You see forgotten characters that you don't expect, who are picked up to play their parts in the story in a very rounded way so that new things results from them.
As with Infinity War, all the strings are once again coming together very well. You definitely need the knowledge of the previous movies in order to be able to follow some scenes and find out why this is the way it is. This is of course also a lot of fan service but also the result of the MCU's way of telling stories where all stories are connected and interwoven with one another, like more or less in the comics it is. But there are also references to comics, where the sun should rise in the hearts of the old hardcore fans (as in my case).
And that's not all, there are other emotions that appeal to the audience, and you definitely don't have to be a fan for that. You just get taken along. You can see reconciliations and characters who have to struggle with their conflicts but are able to settle with them and thus find peace, or characters who grow out of themselves and lay the foundation for new things. The audience is therefore pre-programmed with emotion, because there are several emotional scenes that skillfully reduce the dramaturgy and the action. It is also vise versa with the emotional moments which are skillfully distracts and throws the spectator into a new directions. You can clearly see that the creators have given enormous thought to all the many stories and characters that have accumulated over the years, to let them play their parts logically and also perfectly.
The humor, as we know it from the MCU Movies, must not be missing despite the touching moments. Many jokes are good, work well and the dynamics between the characters also rounded up and works more than well. You have some characters in which you get the deepness and others don't need them told again because you know them, they just carry on what was started.
All in all, you definitely can't expect Endgame to be a copy of Infinitiy War. It's a completely different movie, if you watch it clearly. It's a very good sequel, which is quite different and not only plays well with the characters and their stories, but also with the viewer.
However, you have the feeling that Endgame sometimes feels like a mosaic game. That there are sudden and abrupt scenes which seems to cut in with no sense. That's partly because everything was already told in the previous movies and these certain scenes are the result of it. Of course, you could tell everything a lot more, but with so many characters, with so many stories which play together, then, we would certainly have a movie of a length of 4 or 5 hours, or even more longer, or if you do it in another way, with making more movies, then you will have a never ending Inifinity Saga.
Avengers Endgame is an absolutely worthy conclusion, for my taste, and also a beginning of something completely new...
It's a good movie... But I was expecting something more.
Good description without spoilers, did you watch it in 4dx?
ty @keysersowze, and no, there is no cinema with 4dx here in my city.
Deamn, still worth to drive for the most nearby city with 4dx tho. Took me 160km, because of no place in cinema’s nearby.

Lazy..
I really enjoyed the movie it was a fitting end to an amazing and well executed story over all these movies! I loved the banter between the characters and the memories and flash backs and references which make having seen the previous movies a little more valuable!
I really don’t think they can ever top this! I’m sure this will be the highest grossing movie of all modern times

I saw the movie last week and I have to say that it didn't feel like it was actually 3 hours long, I enjoyed every second of it.
