Oil painting from Cedar Creek #canada

in ᴀʀᴛ & ᴀʀᴛɪꜱᴛꜱ6 days ago (edited)

This is an oil painting I made from Cedar Creek where we play hockey in the winter.

It’s more of a pond at this part of the Creek ….

We haven’t played here in a while since the ice doesn’t get thick enough anymore and we don’t want to risk falling through the ice.

8 x 10” oil on Masonite board

I did not take photographs of my process with this particular painting …. But this is a video of my oil painting process :

In my opinion, this is something best viewed from a distance, not from this close up (at least for me). I think it’s a unique way of depicting ice and winter. To me, it looks like chunks of ice. Is that right?

Could you tell me which colours you used, or did you just go with your instincts?

We had a cold winter, who knows you can enjoy the ice hockey soon.

In this painting I use mostly Cobalt blue, Burnt umber, yellow ochre and titanium white.

What does Artist Double Poster mean ?

Am I posting too much ?

Should I stop posting here ?

It means your posts are not steemexclusive. You are free to post where you like and everyone is free to upvote your posts except SC teams. That's all.
You are free to post as many times as you like.

Thanks for sharing the colours your used.

I see… I also share my Art and Steemit posts and promote Steemit on X, Instagram, YouTube , BASE with millions of people outside of Steemit … should I stop posting there ?

A good question. I have no clue what the Steemit team wants but it feels it differs from Steem witnesses although I have doubts the Steemitblog is posted by Steemit Inc.

.... if I were you I would do what I like.
Something I do anyway since I have nothing to lose and my votes are not that huge at all, plus I am in average disliked for having an opinion.

The only difference I make right now is the hat I wear. If I am Steem Curator once in a while, mainly to reward artists and commenters and all those good ones always being ignored, I stick to rules set (and of course the guidelines). In February was a big "fight" about rewarding and nominating someone who posted on Steemit and elsewhere. It was labelled as plagiarism, which I don't agree with since I don't see using my own work as plagiarism if I post it on different sites or post it here and next in a book.
Apparently AI also states it is plagiarism, which I find rediculious. The biggest plagiarist is AI.

So for now I go along with this weird idea where the label comes from. BTW I can understand that the platform likes original content even if they never pay for it, but still I find it unreasonable especially if they like to see quality and active users and also like to be promoted.

In a few days everything, if it comes to me, is back to normal since I stop curating.

As I noticed you receive good upvotes and SC teams or steemitblog cannot fight this also not if SCs vote on comments.

I wish you a great and creative day.

This question is definately worth voting for. Would be great if someone in charge would answer this question. Most likely it is measuring with different standards.

I am an Artist, a Filmmaker, a Musician and I share my work and promote Steemit Everywhere.

YouTube, Instagram, X, Blurt.blog, Blurt.media SportsTalkSocial.com / HiveMe.me , etc etc etc

If we only post our Work on Steemit only people on Steemit will ever learn about Steemit

Is this what Steemit wants ?

To live in a Vacuum ?

 yesterday

I don't have the answer. I promoted Steemitva lot on X and wherever I could but I can't even tell who Steemit is, for sure not Steemit Inc rules and decides how the average Steemian preferably should 'behave'. Not that I personally believe it matters to follow the rules. The successful definetally don't.
Artists are also in average the forgotten group. True creativity is only rewarded by a few. As I see it, it's the best to live one's own creative journey and support artists if you can. That's what I do through different ways, as long as I can and find it satisfying.
If I am abused I give up on that artist.
