Companies now fully going into Remote Working

in Project HOPE5 years ago

The song Covid-19 is the fastest selling song in the world and deserves the Grammy award for a song without an artist (Just kidding please), but the virus has spread to several nations making it a pandemic and this made a lot of countries place lockdowns and quarantine as one way of preventing the spread. With this, everyone is now working from home and this might be going on for a long time even after the pandemic. Remote working has now become the norm and interestingly, a lot of companies are enjoying this and do not plan on working from office space after this pandemic. A lot of people have started enjoying Google hangout, Slack, Zoom and others instead of meeting at the bar and contracting a virus.

There are a lot of companies planning to move to remote working and they plan to this immediately. Here are a few companies that might not come back to office space after the pandemic.

Coinbase

Brian Armstrong said in May that the company will be adding a remote first policy to its work location. Since Coinbase Headquarters in San Francisco will have to put a 6 feet separation between staffs, then it is visible that the company won’t be spacious enough to occupy all the workers. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong want to utilize the remote working and create a policy so employees can work from home.

Twitter and Square

The CEO of these companies Jack Dorsey told employees that are not physically needed to work on the server to remain at home as they can work from home indefinitely. There will be about 4900 employees working from home and can keep working from home for as long as possible. The company made this known when it created its work from home policy called mandatory.

Amazon

Amazon in April said that employees who could work from home can work until October 2020, this is because the company want to prevent people from getting the virus. For people whose work involves going to the office, there are proper safety measures in place to keep employees safe.

Facebook

With its head office in San Francisco, it won’t be spacious enough to occupy all its employees following the social distance policy. Its CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that many employees will be working from home permanently. Facebook has about 45,000 employees working from home currently and this may take a long time before they are accustomed to working remotely.

Other companies that have also started working from home includes Shopify, Upworthy, Laserfiche, Lambda school and many more. What do you think about live after the Covid-19 Pandemic, will your business be going fully online and remotely, will your business be affected in terms of sales after the pandemic and how?

it's very interesting because companies are creating a new working model and creating a new way of doing things, this is evolving and I'm learning to be more efficient and more independent.

I am happy you are making good use of the of the situation.

@ojerinde i agree with you , this lockdown we are force to take out different options , we need to be prepare for the future this is just a starting.

I cannot agree less buddy, we just have to make use of the opportunity to bring out something good for ourselves also.

Remote working is seriously going to be the next deal even after this pandemic subsides because things will never get back to normal.

I cannot agree less friend.

The truth is that it is worth exploring in depth the social consequences that this pandemic has caused, in this I include many of our customs, eating, traveling, socializing, working.

New modalities and careers are going to emerge and be overvalued and many of the things we know will evolve, if you want to define it in one way.

For example, in my work, we are an operating group from the ICT area, and we rotate and basically everyone works 5 days a month. The rest of the days, remotely.

In my personal opinion, and I am not a doctor, this pandemic can easily consume 2020 and reach 2021 with the virus. We must already speak of permanent ways of working in the periods convid-19 and post covid-19.

Sad but the reality we have to live in is to accept changes in almost every sector.

Honestly, it would be great for me to stay working from home since first we have more comfort and second we keep protecting ourselves, the covid-19 will not disappear overnight or because they remove the quarantine, it will still be present, for that reason many people will surely want to not go out again to their work.

It is a good thing for people who are good with remote working but for those who job cannot be done remotely, then they have to go out and get up and go out in order to get something to survive.

That's true, as everything has its advantages and disadvantages!

This is really interesting information @ojerinde i have heard about it too because Covid-19 pandemic many things are going to change so that people can maintain social distancing while working.

Remote working seem to be the safest way to keep working even while the pandemic keeps spreading fast.

Remote working is taking over the system either we like it or not, the system is changing and we just need to flow with the change.

Right.....we certainly do not have the power to stop the virus anyways.

In my country too, some people are still working from home (majorly people that work with tech companies) while others just need to resume work even while the virus keeps spreading.

I sometimes really wish everyone could work from home without having to go out at all, but it is really sad because not every country is developed enough to have everyone work from home, so we still have people who may have to go out to work.
